·       Milo Program:

Entry level into the game of cricket aimed at kids between 5 and 7 y.o. and is all about having fun! A club representative runs our Milo Program on Friday nights from 5:30pm til 6:30pm, where the kids get a chance to have some Friday fun in the sun with their friends and their parents can enjoy the finish to the working week whilst watching their kids have fun.

The program will run for a total of around 12 Friday night sessions, from October to February, with a summer break in line with the school holidays. The program aims to teach ALL children from 5 to 7 years the basic skills of cricket in a fun, inclusive and vibrant atmosphere. To ensure we can run the most effective program possible and to maximise player enjoyment we strongly encourage parental involvement.

The fun kicks off every Friday night at Lord Reserve (Cnr. Munro & Madden Avenue, Carnegie) from 5:30pm and runs for approx 1 hour. Each session concludes with a complimentary BBQ for all players and their siblings.

The cost for the program is only $85 for the season which includes a MILO cricket kit.
See the following link for more information:

·       T20 Blast:

For kids who have done Milo for a few years or who are playing the game for the first time but are a little bit older.

The cost for T20 Blast players is $110 for the entire year which includes 12 sessions, a Blast pack (including hat shirt and Melbourne Stars merchandise), a Carnegie South Redbacks cap and a medal at the end of the season.

The T20 Blast program is the next step in the pathway to becoming an Australian cricketing hero. T20 Blast program aims to further develop the foundation cricket skills in an action packed weekly soft ball game at a central location. Ideally suited for kids from 7 to 9 years who have learnt the basic skills of bowling, fielding and batting.

The T20 Blast program will run on Saturday mornings at Koornang Park Carnegie, from 9:30am until 10:30am.

Parent involvement is strongly encouraged to help ensure the kids have a great time playing a game where enjoyment is the main focus.

See the following for more information:

Start date :  Game Saturday 20th October

  • Under 14’s:

Eligibility is Under 14 years of age as at 30 September. This age group is where twilight cricket begins and games are held on Friday nights from approx 4:30pm to 7:30pm. Fridays are very popular with players of this age group as they get to keep their weekends, not to mention the parents! Normal cricket rules apply, with scoring, ladders and finals.

Under 14 training sessions are held Tuesday nights from 5:15pm til 6:45pm and games are played on a Friday night, with all training sessions and home games played at our home ground - Lord Reserve. The season is scheduled to begin in October, with a fixture to be released in late September.

Note the cost is $140 for the season. The club’s preference is all registrations are completed online.

A shirt and cap are provided with rego.

  • Other teams are formed occasionally:

·       Under 12’s modified:

Aimed at kids who have had experience through Milo or T20 Blast cricket, usually kids 8-9 years old. The modified competition is a great introduction into ‘hard-ball’ cricket, with a non-competitive atmosphere (scoring, but no points or ladder) and modified rules such as a reduced pitch size and split innings format.

All U12 Junior training sessions are held Wednesday nights from 5:00pm til 6:30pm and games are played on Saturday mornings from approx 8:30am til 11:30am, with all training sessions and home games played at our home ground - Lord Reserve. The season is scheduled to begin in October, with a fixture to be released in late September.

·       Under 12’s:

For players who have had experience in T20 Blast or Modified cricket, usually aged between 10 and 12 (to be eligible must be Under 12 years of age on 30 September, each year). Normal cricket rules apply and the cricket gets a little more competitive with scoring, ladders and finals.

Training sessions as above.

 ·       Under 16’s:

Eligibility is Under 16 years of age as at 30 September. Again this age group plays in the Friday night twilight competition, meaning players and parents get to keep their weekends. Normal cricket rules apply, with scoring, ladders and finals.

Training sessions and times are as for the U14's. Sometimes, U16 players will train with the Seniors on a Thursday evening and are most welcome to do so. This may be as well as, or instead of, the Wednesday sessions. We are flexible.

*Note: The cost for all sides between Under 12’s Modified and Under 16’s is on the registration page and includes player registration and insurance costs, access to qualified coaches, use of club equipment – kit provided for each team, a Carnegie South Redbacks cap for all new players and a medal at the end of the season.
